Entrances

Main entrance into the hall - we hardly ever use! It is most convenient on the whole to use the door into the kitchen.

Always lock up when you go out. Lock yourselves in at night.

We have never had a break-in, but it is wise to be cautious.

Barbeque Room

Stores also the outside furniture. Once the loungers and chairs and tables are out then leave out all the time you are here. No need to keep putting away if you go out, but you may need to rescue the blue and white striped covers if it rains!

Stack everything away again when you leave unless you know someone is following you within a day or two.

Barbeque functions well but keep the double doors open whilst cooking.

Fridge useful for storing all the drinks - leaving the main kitchen fridge for food etc.

Please empty, defrost, clean and unplug the fridge at the end of your stay.

Kitchen

A lot of equipment to make life easier! Microwave obvious. Iron, juicer, liquidiser, toaster, toasted sandwich maker.
Please make sure all unplugged at the end of your stay.

Dishwasher

I use setting C and select BIO for economy wash. Watch that long stem glasses are well in or they get their bases knocked off. Please empty and clean filter, top up with rinse aid and salt at the end of your stay.

Washing Machine

I use setting D for everything. If doing hand washing using setting H for spin. There is a 2 minute delay before you can open the door. Please empty and clean filter at end of stay.

Fridge

Sometimes the door tends to open so check it is properly closed.

At the end of your stay please clean and unplug. There is a small "plug" that fits in the top of the fridge and communicates with the freezer compartment. If you unplug this and place a bowl under the hole on the top shelf of the fridge the bowl will collect the defrosting water. Clever or what! Leave the plug out.

On arrival put the plug in if it has not been switched on already.

There are freezer bags/boxes around - useful for putting in the boot when shopping . Things melt in seconds in Spain in August!

Cooker

Self-explanatory really.

The oven takes a while to heat up (probably only because I am used to my always-hot Aga) so plan in advance.

The extractor hood pulls out and switches on with switch to the left of the oven.

Cleaning equipment

Downstairs loo for hoover, brushes, ironing board etc.

Bedrooms

Main King size bed has "Jonelle" fitted white undersheet and flat sheet and blanket. These are the only ones that fit the bed.

2nd Blue double sheet and duvet and duvet cover.

Twins x 2 White single fitted sheet and yellow and white striped or "Sprig" Laura Ashley duvet covers.

All rooms have overhead fans. Children (especially ours) have a habit of leaving them on all day when not in the house so they need a constant reminder to turn them off when not actually in the room and needing them.

Mosquito netting everywhere except in main en suite and small window on the landing. We took it off there so there is an upstairs escape route in the event of a fire.

Mosquitoes and flies are a bore. Use Autan after dusk. Keep doors shut. Flies nip in with annoying rapidity so we bore the children with "shut that door".

Please do not remove the mosquito nets from the windows.

General

Tiles look pretty, they are easy to clean but they are lethal with wet feet.

Rule 1 Nobody goes indoors with wet feet or wet anything. No sitting on armchairs with wet costumes even if "I have got a towel on as well mum…..".

Rule 2 Tiles around the pool are slip-proof but if you run and trip and bang your head and fall in the pool the consequences are awful so we strongly recommend NO RUNNING AROUND THE POOL.

Towels Pinky brown inside.
Patterned for pool and beach.
Please lie on a towel on the sunbeds to protect the beds from chlorine and suntan oil.

Boiler

On the right on the floor is the hot water boiler. The instructions are in English.

Central Heating

The instructions are also in English and very easy to follow.
There is no thermostat control so it needs to be controlled from the boiler room unit.
